Jeyes company founder, John Jeyes was born in 1817, a skilled and entrepreneurial inventor who had registered over 20 patents by 1891. The most significant development came in 1877 when he patented the first truly effective disinfectant, still known today as Jeyes Fluid.

Jeyes Professional - A brief history
1817 - Company founder, John Jeyes is born 1877 - John Jeyes patents Jeyes Fluid – the first truly effective disinfectant 1879 - Jeyes Sanitary Products is founded and trades in this format until 1964 1896 - Jeyes granted the Royal Warrant 1964 - Foundation of Jeyes Group 1998 - Jeyes Group acquired by IWP. IWP Household Products Division incorporates Jeyes and Sanoda 2000 - IWP acquires Marsden Chemicals, a family owned, 25 year old business specialising in professional catering and laundry products 2002 - Jeyes Group grows to a €300m business. IWP agrees MBO, supported by L&G Ventures. In October of this year, Jeyes Professional is officially launched with a complete product range relaunch 2004 - In April, Jeyes Professional Division Ltd is established as a separate trading entity of the Jeyes Group. In July of this year, Jeyes Professional opens a purpose-built warehouse & distribution centre close to the manufacturing site in Poulton-le-Fylde 2008 - The Jeyes Professional business relocates to new premises in Preston, Lancashire. This significantly larger site allows all business functions to come together under one roof.
